Description
The microbiome stool test is possible from the age of 4.
The intestinal microbiome – all the microorganisms that colonise the gut – is of essential importance for human health. As numerous studies show, dysbiosis of the gut microbiome is associated with various diseases: metabolic syndrome, diabetes, inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel syndrome, calcium oxalate kidney stones, cardiovascular diseases, rheumatoid arthritis and neurological disorders.
The gut microbiome is analysed by DNA sequencing (next-generation sequencing). This method has revolutionised diagnostics because it makes it possible to detect almost all known bacteria. DNA sequencing allows a more precise assessment of how the individual, highly complex microbiota affects colonisation resistance, digestive processes, absorption of nutrients and vitamins, and immunity. This molecular biological method also detects anaerobic bacteria that cannot be cultured.
In addition, this test includes the parameters of the gut health check, including zonulin in stool. Besides the Florastatus analysis, the gut health check covers digestive performance and capacity as well as the condition and function of the intestinal mucosa and the gut-associated immune system.
The molecular genetic analysis includes
- diversity of the intestinal microbiome
- statement on bacterial dysbiosis
- determination of the enterotype
- distribution of the most important bacterial phyla
- Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes ratio
- assessment of the mucosa-protective flora
- analysis of risk factors for dysbiosis-associated diseases
The microbiological analysis includes
- aerobic and anaerobic key bacteria
- moulds
- yeasts (Candida albicans and Candida spp.)
- quantitative analysis of digestive residues
- α-1-antitrypsin
- calprotectin
- bile acids
- pancreatic elastase
- secretory IgA
- zonulin in stool
The test kit contains:
- 1 sampling guide
- 1 guide for retrieving the results
- 1 sample accompanying form
- 1 guarantee certificate
- 1 sample tube incl. label in shipping container
- 1 microbiome sample tube with label in shipping container
- 1 stool collector

The results serve as a basis for individual therapy or gut rehabilitation, which should only be carried out after consulting a doctor or therapist.
How does ordering work?
After your order we send you the test kit with detailed instructions. You place the sample in the container provided, send it in the prepared envelope to our partner laboratory GANZIMMUN Diagnostics GmbH and receive your findings with an assessment of your profile by post. Please note that the analysis may take up to 14 working days.
Please note that reimbursement of this test by private health insurance is not always guaranteed. Please check with your insurer whether the costs will be covered.
